Erin Addison is a landscape architect, writer, and scholar with over 30 years of experience in cultural and natural heritage conservation focused on sustainable landscape design and planning for arid lands.

Usufruct is an ancient expression of the right to enjoy the use and advantages of another’s property without damaging its integrity or wasting its yield. I believe that we, humanity, are privileged to be the stewards of this beautiful world. It does not belong to us: we are given usufruct.

Her academic and professional work has included historical research, cultural heritage, environmental issues, and writing. Addison over a dozen scholarly articles and book chapters and written two novels, including The Intervals and The Servant of Dreams.
